Collection of Learning Resources

The library and information unit provides access to a fairly a good collection of more than 15500 learning resources including both print and e-resources consisting of most frequently used 10280 books, manuals and various types national and international reports. Besides special publications, back volumes of periodicals, audiovisual aids, E-thesis and important databases for research are also available . The library subscribes to more than 102 periodicals in print and databases like CAB Abstract, AGRIS , Indian Forester etc. These are accessible through a network of CD servers under a local area network. The library constantly updates and develops its collection on recommendations of faculty from time to time in areas of Forest sciences, Horticulture, Crop Improvement , Seed sciences, Vegetable Sciences and other allied disciplines of Hill Agriculture. It is also our Endeavour to procure all publications relating to Hill area development.

The library has automated all its resources and is searchable through simple search techniques. The OPAC will tell you what we have, whether it is available and where to find it

The OPAC and e-resources

The books and other learning resources are arranged using Dewey system of classification. Make sure that you note down the full class number or the call number before you look for them in shelves. Students may get more help in finding information by attending credit based information literacy course offered by the library.
The library has the following In-house Bibliographic databases search able through the OPAC 1. Database of all books in print 2 Database of Periodical holdings subscribed by the library. 3. Database of Compact Discs learning resources or a CD library

Access and Membership

Access to all library and information resources is dependent on compliance with the rules and regulations of the university membership is open to staff and students currently employed by or registered at the university. Members of other institutions may use the facilities for reference, however, borrowing and inter library loan shall be limited to the terms of formal agreement with the authorities of both institutes
